Well I was glad for Perez's second place. Lance lucked out and got the pole in the rain, but Perez should be the one on the team next year, not Lance.

But daddy owns the team. That makes a big difference.

Well it's another Hamilton/Bottas front row.

Well no it wasn't surprised. Glad Perez did well. Hoping he will get a shot a Red Bull. Albon keeps screwing up so hope RB comes thru for Perez. He deserves it.

I'm amazed that Grosjean lived after that crash.

Damn, it's a crash fest. First lap of the restart and Stroll is upside down.

That has to be one of the worst crashes I have ever seen in F1.

And if he had been unconscious and not able to get out of the car on his own I'm sure he would have died in the fire. The corner worker on the far side of the fence was spraying his extinguisher 15 to 20 feet away at the ground and was not doing a damn thing to put out the fire.

That was one of the worst crashes I have ever seen for the driver to not be hurt more than it seemed he was. The way the car broke apart I wonder if his belts were loose and he was able to get out quicker.

It was amazing that he got out with the front 1/2 of the car basically stuck in the barrier. Also, I was surprised it broke into flames in impact and the front 1/2 of the car was totally consumed in flames. I was a little worried that he had not gotten out as they didn't show any pictures for quite awhile after the crash and I thought that was a bad sign.

True Sam. They no longer show reruns of the crash until they know the condition of the driver.

Probably a good idea, but sure adds to the suspense.

Here is an article on the crash and a couple of good pictures. They say he wasn't seriously injured and will be x-rayed for a possible broken rib. Scary!!!

Even though fire is very, very rare these days I will not be surprised to that they put a rescue person in full fire proof gear in the safety car next year. As it was it was really brave of the men in the safety car to get as close to the fire as they did with open face helmets.
