Anyone watching the BJ auction from Las Vegas

I'm recording it and watching as I can.

I have been surprised at some of the prices paid, especially for a Thursday.

I watched it and plan to watch more today. Some prices were up there and some seemed kind of low to me. The thing that sort of surprised me is that Land Rovers seem to always stay in the same price range and don't seem to fluctuate as much as other cars do.

I was thinking about 20% on average.

I saw a 69 Mach 1 that went for over 80K a few minutes ago.

Well there were some very nice cars sold yesterday including several Ford GTs and Ferraris. The top seller was the one Ford GT that went for 1.4 million.

So much for Ford's attempt to have the cars driven and not sold for a profit.

The seller of the 2006 GT Heritage edition that hammered at 295k must be feeling pretty sick. I was expecting that car to go for 400k or more. Two of them sold at Scottsdale earlier in the year for 400 - 500k.

The first generation of the Ford GT (not the GT40) are now old news and people will be lining up to buy the second generation GT's as they become available.

Was this regarding the new Ford GT? I was told that part of the application process to Ford requesting consideration for purchasing one, included an signed affidavit that the car would not be re-sold for two years after delivery. Wonder how they enforce that?

    Dan,

I would guess they have a contract and if you sell it before the two years are up they can sue for a big amount or you agree to a huge penalty if you seel the car.
