Cobra With Exhaust Cut Out's ?

I really did not notice the cut outs, because the polished Kirkham is so awesome. But with the Cobra's side pipes, how do the cut out work ?
    And,...why ?

I know with the headers and side pipes I build with no packing in the mufflers, their loud enough. If racing, just make a small exit out of the collectors. I believe the dragon snakes had them. Have to search for a pic.

I'd question the 1,200HP, given that Rodney's twin blower Kirkham is around 750 and his is a beast. To get up to 1,200 from there would take a whole LOT more boost and cam, and the added boost may not sit well with a bigger cam.

IMHO, cut-outs on these cars just add unnecessary weight. Plenty of good sounds from the sidepipes already.

I agree Dean and really don't see a purpose of them on a Cobra.

I suppose you could modify the collector but to make it clean looking would take serious fab skills.

With a normal cars under exhaust, it's simple, but with side pipes, I don't see how ?

I don't believe Super Snakes had cut-outs but I'm no expert.

Dean's comments are right on. Except for the 750.

1200 HP in a Cobra? No thank you.

No cut outs, just the header, collector, then a short turn out pipe, no muffler. Like a mini side pipe with no muffler.

But they never used cut outs, just very short exhausts that had no baffels or restrictions in them.

Yep, both versions were used by different teams. I'd just used "zoomies" !
