The Land Speed Record Cars - where are they now?

Some strange looking cars in this video and they were dangerous. those narrow wheels and tires would be enough to scare me at the speeds they drove them.

Speedway Motors is in my backyard and have known Bill for years (RIP) and he has several land speed cars of diffetent class's. Their musum are packed with cars, motor cycles, bikes, lunch box, rare and one of a kind engines to pedal cars, the most in the world. If you're ever near Lincoln Ne. Call ahead for a tour or check out their website for planned tours.

That is quite a st up he has. Art Arfons brought one of his cars to the big show here a few years ago and it was interesting to talk to him.

I kind of lost interest when they went from internal combustion engines to the jets and rockets.

And how come no mention of Golden Rod?

I agree, their jets with front and back wheels and no wings, , not a car. Their awesome though and love the speed, so call them something else.

Bolt on wings and you have a airplane.

I should mention that I lost interest when they switched from internal combustion engines to turbines in the Unlimited Hydroplanes. They are no longer "Thunder Boats" even if they continue to still call them that.
