You mean if I ever get a pair of real Halibrands I can’t paint them?

You're killing me, Smalls. I wouldn't mind the gold...It's just that I've seen a much lighter, less bolder shade of it on other originals and my eyes tend to favor that more. These work for CSX3024, as that bold center stripe really sets off the car, too.

To answer your silly question, I'd probably go with a natural "darkened magnesium" look, much like what you see on Anthony's cars. That natural patina that occurs on real Halibrands.

Are there historic racing organizations which allow replica cobras to race?

    Tom,

Yes there are a lot of them. Laguna Seca is one and of course Good wood in England. In fact the last time and only time al;l six of the original Daytonas were together was to race at good wood. And numerous other tracks hold historical races and several of thye Cobras in them are replicas. Even the Pebble Beach car show allowed replicas one year. Out small road track here normally has a good representation of replicas that race there.

I don't know about what tracks but I see on other sites where the members are getting ready to go to the track for a day. I know that Texas lets them run as they always have a track day or so every year when they have the big Texas Cobra Meet. You might contack some of the members from different areas of the country and ask them.
