Hard to base an opinion on a 2 minute trailer, but Matt Damon as Shelby? I think they could have done better on that choice.

yeah, i agree with Silver.... better was Sharon Stone as Shelby.

So 16:03 is 4:03 in the morning where you are at?

    Hmmmmmmm.

I think you are drunker than you realize.

yeah, you're right … i meant PM. Was to quickly as we just took are bikes for a hour trip but damned, not one café open... it's Monday indeed , most are closed .
Now i'm on my (first) whiskey…. so the sober part doesn't count anymore.

Look , to be on topic, i think Sharon Stone resembles Shelby as much as Matt Damon.
and i would love to see the film much more. Win-win situation.

Darn, I have to agree with Silver. There is no such thing as 16:03 AM. That is military time for 3:03 PM.

    Barry,

I have to keep on his good side. If not he may send Nomad down to see me.

are you afraid of Nomad ? wait, because of that pic "Nomad and friends" in them farmer overalls , beards and tattoos ? that was misleading , you couldn't even see Nomad , he was in the middle, but to short for the picture frame.

Yea, I saw that after I posted it but decided not to edit it to put the correct time in. But at least I did get it in the PM.

At least you were only off by an hour where WaffleHead was off by half a day.

what's a half a day in a lifetime ? i must concentrate on what day we are , let alone the hour.
When i stopped work ( sold my buziness) i no longer used my wrist watch . Others may have my watch , i have the time.

edit… in rallys i have a copilot with a watch… the only thing he has to do is confirm i'm awake in the morning .

to be on topic... can we expect a neutral view ? as it is a US film production ?

FWIW, a lot of the cars used in the making of this movie were from Superformance. I believe all of the GT40's were and most of the Cobras, too. It was convenient for Hollywood to be so close to Orange Country (Irvine) and have access to so many cars. Superformance's GT40 is dimensionally identical to the real deals, so it was only natural to use them for this flick.

I agree that Matt Damon doesn't come across as the ideal Carroll Shelby. If comedian and heavy car guy Adam Carolla could actually ACT, he arguably would have been a better choice. Has the tall, lanky look and enough twang when he speaks. And he could have driven without a stuntman.

Matt Damon is a better choice than who was originally announced for the role - Tom Cruise.

Actually I'm not sure Tom Cruise would have been a bad choice if only he were about 3 or 4 inches taller (without resorting to lifts). At least Christian Bale and Matt Damon are proportionally similar to their characters - both around 3 - 4 inches shorter than their character they are playing.

Too bad Don Rickles or Rodney Dangerfield were no longer available.
