    Minor changes

Made a couple of minor changes to the look of the car. The kids got me a set of quick jacks for Christmas so replaced the bumperettes with those. Also, I've always liked the look of headlight stone guards, so added those as well. Minor changes, but something a bit different to look at.

When I bought my Cobra it has a lot of different parts for it. One was the quick jacks.

As soon as I got it home I pulled the bumperettes off and put on the quick jacks. I liked the racing look better than the street look.

    Your car looks great Kevin.

Generally they are just for show Norbert.

I can only answer for my Cobra which was a Superformance. They were for show only and if you tried to lift the car with them the body would be damaged. And this is somewhat true of the originals also. They functioned, but it was not unusual for the aluminum body to crinkle where the supports passed through the body.

Here is a picture of one in use.

Looks great, Kevin. I have always preferred the quick jacks, too. Although, I have to admit I had four stitches in one eyebrow as a result a long time ago.

Looks like a different car and a lot better than it did with the bumperettes.

Looks good Kevin. How many miles do you have on the car now? I know you are way, way further along on the odometer than I am. I took mine out last week for the first time in months.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. Dan, she has a little over 14,000 miles now. I took a week off work this past week and spent most of it detailing the car, so it's cleaner than it's been since it was new. Three coats of Zaino, cleaned and waxed the wheels, detailed the engine bay (even took all the components off the firewall to polish the aluminum), protectorant on the rubber/plastic, leather cleaner and then conditioner on the seats, on and on. I also cleaned the undercarriage as best I could, checked bolts for tightness and finally got around to putting cross check on all the major bolts so I can just visually inspect them in the future to see if they've loosened. Took the wife for a drive yesterday morning and was laughing at myself for feeling like the car was running better than ever. That old adage about a clean car running better seems to be true. I'm a bit stiff and sore (more than usual) and am missing a bit of skin on my hands here and there - mostly from getting into the tight spaces on and around the engine - but am glad to have her all cleaned up.
